Welcome --

NegroBillCanyon.com --
is a website designed to honor a simple man, relate a chapter of western lore, explore a landmark of magnificent natural beauty -- and perhaps -- reveal a fun bit of mystery.

A Canyon in Majestic Moab

Picture
Moab refers to a small town and surrounding region of southeastern Utah. It is named after an arid and mountainous area of ancient Palestine noted in the Old Testament traditions as the country of Ruth.

The Colorado River wanders through Utah's Moab region.   As a result of its passage, the River and its tributaries have fashioned dramatic cliff-lined canyons, razor-edged reefs, broad flat buttes, and colossal jumbles of talus and scree.

Locate the Canyon

Picture
Negro Bill Canyon is one of these creations.  It provides a marked trail of almost 2 and a half miles that ends at Morning Glory Natural Bridge.

Negro Bill's Canyon and its trails can be reached by driving north on Moab's Main Street (U.S. 191) until you come to Utah 128, which follows the wandering banks of the Colorado River. Turn right (east) and drive for 3.1 miles.   A small parking area can be found on the right side of the road.

We've organized the website into multiple pages.  Please use the buttons below or navigation bar above to visit each one -- and just enjoy our site.
